On 19 December, The Cure played The Hope & Anchor in Islington and the NME feature had the effect Parry'd hoped. The place was packed with curious punters and, as was now customary, the band played a curious set. Robert: "I had flu and was doped up on Night Nurse and disprins. Halfway through the set I collapsed with a temperature of 102. We were really worried that the gig was gonna be reviewed and that people would think we were always like that."
unknown whether there was an opening act
