On 16-12-1979, about 35 years ago, Donkiesjot organised together with Buro Pinkpop a performance of The Cure in Sittard. It was in the period that bands like The Sex Pistols, The Sound, Echo and The Bunnymen, Au Pairs and U2 performed in Sittard. Jan opens the folder with contracts of The Cure performances with press releases, posters and information about the performance. We learn that in 1979 300 people sold out Donkiesjot. The entrance fee was 6 guilders and the budget was 3600 guilders including 1000 guilders for travel expenses. Those who were there should count themselves lucky, because The Cure has since grown into one of the world's greatest pop acts. Jan Smeets: "It's really a pity that the name "Donkiesjot" doesn't exist anymore, it had an enormous positive name in the Netherlands".
