I went to it, held at Chequers in Goulburn Street, Sydney. Matthieu Hartley was playing keyboards so it must have been 1980 not 1981. I am trying to establish details of the date using microfilmed newspapers. It might take me some time. I am also fairly sure there was one at University of New Wales Roundhouse (also in Sydney). The Chequers concert was very crowded as it was not a big venue and there were 200-300 people present. We were very squashed. I have no idea about the set list but of course Seventeen Seconds had just been released.

When The Cure toured Australia in 1980, they were scheduled (and advertised) to play at Ainslie in ACT, but after the advertising ran, they were rescheduled to play Chequers in Sydney.
You have the poster for this filed under 1981. It should be in 1980 and replacing the Ainslie gig, listed under Wednesday 20 August. (20 August fell on a Wednesday in 1980).
