Robert: (...) "On stage, he'd try to play things I hated, useless things, like trying to play a chord at the beginning of 'A Forest' instead of a simple note. When I asked him why he was doing that, he said he thought it was good so what was the point in arguing? By the time we'd reached the end of the tour, in Perth, the three of us had decided that Matty shouldn't be in the group anymore. We'd thought about it long and hard and realised we weren't enjoying it. It wasn't like with Michael where he couldn't see anything coming. Matthieu knew. We'd been talking about what we were going to do next and I wanted to concentrate more on the songs like 'At Night' whereas he wanted to play ones like 'Play For Today', more pop. So he could see a point where he wasn't going to be musically very happy. He was so grumpy anyway, I thought 'Fine. Just don't take it out on the group'."
