... the first ever Cure concert I visited. The concert was in a circus tent and before the concert some kind of animation with figures made out of bolts en screws (or something like that) was shown on a big sheet at the back of the stage. It was the show in Amsterdam on June 21, 1981.
The scan Sven suplied says that the venue was The Oude Rai. That's 100% not correct. Maybe The Cure intended to play there, but the real veneu was at the Evenementen-terrein at the Jan van Galenstraat. In earlier days carnivals and circus were held overthere.
As I said before, I visited this concert myself with 2 other schoolfriends and I'm from Amsterdam myself.
The Oude RAI and the Jan van Galenstraat are miles away from each other and I'm definitely sure that that scan is incorrect (for whatever what reason).

I can also confirm, like Tom, they were playing in a tent at Jan van Galenstraat not far from the Erasmus Park
