The Cure have never played the Cow Palace. U2 played two shows there in 1985, which I attended (...). The Cow Palace (in Daly City, CA) was usually a venue for hard rock bands.from Matt
You mention that you only have 20 of the 23 shows listed from this tour. One that I don't see listed is in San Francisco, CA in the Fall of 1985. You have Oakland, UC Davis, and San Jose listed which are all very close in proximity to San Francisco, but I remember reading about this show in particular. Why?Because I remember reading a review of the concert in Thrasher Skateboard Magazine back in 1985/86 when I was 12 years old. I kept the magazine for several years and when I re-read the article a few years later, two things jumped out at me...1) They played at a venue called the Cow Palace, and I had a U2 bootleg from 1987 that was recorded there as well, and 2) They played 'Cold'. This was before the internet and set lists were hard to come by. I remember thinking that I would probably never hear 'Cold' again in the USA since they tended to play mostly pop songs back in 1989. I remember wishing that I saw the Cure for the first time in 1985 rather than in 1986 at Irvine Meadows.
Not sure how you could nail down a date...
