The Cure and the Foo Fighters were co-headliners at the Hurricane and Southside festivals that year and performed back-to-back on the same evenings on two different stages set up side by side. At the Southside Festival on June 21, 2019, the Foo Fighters were the first to take the stage. Before "Best of You", Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters said, "Gonna sing another song or two, then I'm going to see the fucking Cure. I've never seen them before. So let's sing this song for The Cure" (watch here). Before their final song, "Everlong" he mentioned again, "and then let's go to see the fucking Cure" (watch here).
Two days later at the Hurricane Festival, The Cure were the first to perform, and at the end of the concert, Robert responded to Dave's remark by saying, "and enjoy the fucking Foo Fighters" (watch here).
