from the book 'Ten Imaginary Years'
In March, The Cure travelled to Argentina where they played two shows in a 20,000 capacity Buenos Aires football stadium and suffered riots outside when all the people gathered couldn't get in and over 100 were arrested. Tour security was immediately taken over by the Ministry Of Interior Affairs and, again, the band were under siege in their hotels until they flew to Brazil for eight more concerts. These concerts, too, were wild affairs, and the group returned to London after three weeks triumphant but more than slightly shell-shocked!
